Fallout New Vegas

I just picked up more time at work, my kids are perpetually behind in their homework, and dishes sit undone in my sink for far too long on a GOOD day.  To add to the mayhem, I picked up Fallout New Vegas last night.  I haven't installed it yet. It's sitting on my computer desk, beckoning to me with its pistol toting, armored man on the cover.

I haven't installed it yet because I had a raid in World of Warcraft last night, where we didn't get anywhere due to massive disconnects, and I was up too late (but not as late as usual) playing around with that.

What's a gamer girl to do?  Torn between a game I've been playing for a while (WoW) and something I have a suspicion is going to suck me in and take all of my free time (haha - what is that anyway?) for the next few weeks until I finish it.  Like Mass Effect 2 did. Like Dragon Age did.  *sighs* I'll install it this afternoon.

In other news - my son's pet rat is still loose in his room. We've tried to trap her, but being descended from laboratory rats makes her really smart.  She's not falling for the cup of peanut butter just past the trip plate. Or she's somehow managing to get past the trip plate without actually tripping it to eat the peanut butter. At this point, I'm not sure what to do to catch her, and she shows absolutely no inclination of coming to us.

At least the cats haven't brought anything alive inside in a month.

My cats brought in a juvenile squirrel the day before yesterday. I'm not sure where it spent its first night in our house, or the day yesterday, but at some point last night it made its way into our bedroom. I know this because I felt something small jump up on the bed, get on my pillow, then as soon as I shifted it was gone and I heard rustling in the closet. I woke up my husband and he checked and sure enough the little squirrel was trying to get as high up in the closet as it could.

We happen to have a humane trap that my father in law had gotten to trap some raccoons. So I set it up in the bedroom with a plate full of nuts. I'm hoping the little guy is hungry and will take the bait, so I can release him back outside where he belongs.
